Favolaschia è un genere di fungo molto strano, infestante, originario dei tropici. Ma la globalizzazione l'ha portato anche nei nostri boschi! Questo sito non parla di funghi, ma favolaschia mi sembrava un nome significativo e evocativo di qualcosa di simile a quello che qui viene raccontato...

L'uomo dei record
Ashrita Furman aggiunge ai suoi già numerosi record un nuovo primato, quello di detenere contemporaneamente 100 record. Il 54enne di New York ha all'attivo tra gli altri i record per aver mangiato più m&m con i bastoncini in un minuto (38), più spicchi d'aglio mangiati in un minuto (22), più palle da baseball trattenute in un guanto per 10 sec (22), ecc.

Le carezze vanno dritte al cervello
Nerve signals that tell the brain that we are being slowly stroked on the skin have their own specialised nerve fibres in the skin. This is shown by a new study from the Sahlgrenska Academy in Sweden. The discovery may explain why touching the skin can relieve pain.
Le carezze provocano l'invio di segnali nervosi direttamente al cervello: gli scienziati infatti hanno scoperto che nella pelle esistono fibre nervose specializzate. La scoperta potrebbe spiegare perchè le carezze aiutano ada lleviare il dolore.
